At that point you’ll be forced to sit down with a certain character, and discuss your actions from the first game. You don’t need to play very long, just about five minutes or so. To import your Pillars of Eternity 1 save file, you’ll first need to just play along through the early part of the game. Whether you’re importing a save file, or starting fresh, at a point early on in the game you’ll need to input what choices you made either by directly choosing them again, or by importing a save file from PoE 1. Obsidian doesn’t shy away from your big choices, in fact, it takes into account all of them. PoE 2: Deadfire is a direct sequel, and picks up right where the first game leaves off for the most part.
